Some waves came through last night at the wall and I was really excited to get up early and check it out but when I woke up Joel had texted me “small and foggy” and I went right back to sleep. All day it looked like crap ’cause the tide was drained out for the most part of the day. As the tide started pushing in the swell came through. I’d say it was chest high on the sets, 60 degree water and sun, couldn’t be much better. Well, I guess there were some crowding issues but I think everyone is just happy to have waves. Shot video for most of the day but took a few photos as well…

While waiting for Hurricane Emily & with ski season rapidly approaching, I decided it was a good idea to actually get my ass in shape this year. Mainly due to the mild-strokes I experienced filming last year while hiking & climbing lines (not to mention falling down several). So lately, I’ve been rolling up to Mt. Agamenticus in Maine to put some vertical into my running – granted it is just shy of 1,000 vertical ft. but its a great spot on a nice day. I’ve brought my camera with me every time in a backpack to try and catch a series of sunsets, long exposures & other lifestyle shots that include the infamous White Mountains – our winter playground in less than 150 days. Stay tuned for some swells.

Hurricane Season | Tropical Storm Emily

We’ve been closely watching Tropical Storm Emily for a few days now, forecast track is still up in the air but we’re hoping that it passes by the Islands and leaves Florida unharmed. From there it’s forecasted to pick up speed in the warm water off the coast of Georgia, at this point winds should be upwards of 75 miles an hour and Emily will be upgraded to a Cat 1 Hurricane. Keep your eyes on the forecast.

Great morning until the camera started to give me error messages.

Sunset

These are from last night, heading back out shortly to see what tonight’s sunset brings.

Sunset | 6-26-11 – The Birds | 6-27-11

Got lazy and didn’t use my tripod tonight, also didn’t have an SD card with me so I had to borrow a 1gig which equates to 36 photos in RAW+JPEG format. With everything being digital lately and technology coming along so quickly it’s easy to forget how much more difficult it was to get a great shot on film cameras.

All In A Days Work | June 25, 2011

Today was awesome — I got to poach the new Hampton bowl with the boys, shoot Paul O absolutely tearing the thing to pieces and then shoot Stevie O down south in head high surf. And all after I got outta work, take a second and check out Andy’s photography from out west down below this post. We’re really stoked to see more work from him, STAY TUNED!
