Pre-Season Part II

Well the weather didn’t quite do what I forecasted it to, but Stowe got 4″ and Cannon got about 5″, still more to come so keep your eye on resort conditions.

Here is the second and final video from the Pre-Season, enjoy!

Weather Update | December 5, 8:00pm
Totals are still pretty weak after the weekend but Saddleback, Maine is reporting 9″ in the last 48 hours and 2″ in the last 24 with deeper snow in pockets, 2-4″ at SR and Sugarloaf with another 6″ expected. Here is the 48 hour rain/snow forecast:

Happy Thanksgiving!

Well the EC is pretty dry, Sunday River has 18 trails open and word is Killington is skiing pretty well too. It looks as though there could be a mild snow event throughout the next few days up North so keep your eye on the weather. We’re also thankful that Lucas got a GoPro HD yesterday, it’s going to make everything that much easier to document. I’ve included some T-Giving stoke, keep your tips up!

It’s amazing how timeless powder skiing is, enjoy this vintage video of Bob Smith –founder of Smith Goggles as he tests out his designs at the home base of powder skiing, Jackson.

Sunday River | Snow Gun Testing

It looks as though the temperature dipped into the 20s last night up in Newry, ME and Sunday River got a chance to test out 40 snow fans on South Ridge and 40 tower guns on Locke Mountain in preparation for the upcoming season. They’re hoping to be open by mid November, last year they were open for a total of 6 months and 6 days which is pretty impressive. For the last three seasons Sunday River has been the first to open on the EC……they’re hoping to make it happen again this year. Check out the video here:  Snow Test

December 2009 @ Sunday River, lets just hope December is that deep this season.
